Meet the Team

Vanessa Britton

Vanessa Britton, Editor

I have been involved with horses for most of my life, enjoying all the competitive disciplines from eventing to driving and even jousting and have been lucky enough to have owned some super horses along the way. My professional career started with work experience covering the Horse of the Year Show and I havn't looked back since, having written for the country's top national publications and had over twenty equestrain books published on a variety of topics.

I have lived in Norfolk since 1984 and have competed at and reported on, many local events and news stories. Editing EQ Life is a fantastic job as it it keeps me in touch with friends old and new and lets me talk about horses all day – what could be better?

Cathy Wood

Cathy Wood, Deputy Editor

Having grown up in Hertfordshire as a pony-mad child I moved to Norfolk to attend the University of East Anglia and have never left. I now combine my two passions of writing and horses and have worked on EQ Life since its inception, watching it grow and mature into the great local magazine that it is today.

I am often out and about reporting at events across the region, or on the phone trying to catch riders for quotes and researching features, and I am always on the look out for my next story. I have four years experience in equestrian journalism and have written for some of the country’s top equine publications, but EQ Life must be one of the most exciting as it’s about the equine world right on my doorstep.

Joanne Masterson, Sales and Marketing

I have had horses all my life and cannot remember not riding. I have competed in all the disciplines at all levels and my greatest achievement has been winning twice at the Horse of the Year Show and twice competing at the Badminton Grassroots Championships. I am really proud to now be part of the EQ Life team.

Angela Tuck

Angela Tuck, Design and Production Editor

I started riding at a young age and could never give it up. Having lived in Suffolk all of my life, over the years I have helped out in many ways behind the scenes with my local Riding Club, Riding Tracks group and Riding for the Disabled Association.

I have a keen interest in Dressage, Eventing and Carriage Driving and just having fun with my pony. I’m also an equestrian photographer, so will be out and about at shows taking pictures for EQ Life.

Gavin Church, Account Manager

I had my first taste of riding at the age of 5 on a friends pony and it instantly became a dream of mine to ride and ultimately have my own horse. However, for various reasons this dream didn't come true until very recently. On new years day in 2011 I followed the hunt on foot at Ashby and set myself a goal - to ride the 2012 New Year hunt and be able to keep up with the field. I achieved this goal far sooner than expected. I now have my own horse, Jazzy and we regularly hunt with the Waveney Harriers.

I also successfully compete in local unaffiliated show jumping and hunter trials.
